Work Week 6: 4.8.2022

Work Week 6: 4.8.2022
Why do you sit like that, Clemmy... Why.

(The plant tag is on this because πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ if you keep reading)

Monday

  • An attempt was made to connect with the team, ask them how everyone's doing, how everyone's weekend was...
  • ...It was dead silent. Ok. Well. Worth an effort
  • Tracked progress and addressed issues with my developers
  • Begun daily sessions to discuss with clients and drive out RAID log items that require client action

Tuesday

  • Second attempt to connect with the team. One of my QAs was going to be OOO. I asked if they're going to do anything fun
  • ...They never responded and I immediately saved myself by continuing on with my daily stand-up
  • Alright, we'll try again slowly but surely
  • Another day of tracking progress and addressing issues with my developers
  • Continued to revise the Metaverse presentation for Thursday's onsite
  • Continued daily sessions around RAID log items that require bank action and continued to address/clarify any issues
  • Dinner with the Trends team, met some team members for the first time in-person

Wednesday

  • Another day of tracking progress and addressing issues with my developers
  • (This is going to be a common thing from here on out till this project ends; unless there are any significant issues that come up)
  • Went through a dry-run with the team on the Metaverse presentation
  • Continued daily sessions around RAID log items that require bank action and continued to address/clarify any issues
  • (Same with this. These are just regular daily stand-ups in my life)
  • EXCITING NEWS HOWEVER!!!! (not work related) Near the end of the work day my roommate told me there was a Fiddle Leaf Fig that dumped in our recycles area
  • It's mine now. Fits perfectly with my other one that was found in the recycles area outside
  • I told Mom about this. She was really proud. Dad however, was not. :(
  • Papa Hsu doesn't condone "dumpster diving" (I argued it technically isn't. But also I cannot defend myself that I definitely do not check the recycle area when it's convenient to see if there are anything good)
My two garbage fiddle leaf figs. As I always say, THE GARBAGE ALWAYS PROVIDES.
  • Ok anyways, this was definitely the second best thing to happen during the work week (I'm throwing the plant tag in because this is too great and should've deserved its own post)

Thursday

  • Digital Emerging Technologies had an onsite
  • Finally met my mentees in the Product Management Apprenticeship Program
  • My career has officially peaked. During our presentation around the Metaverse, I had a slide around what blockchain gaming was and explained to my entire practice what Axie Infinity was
  • Mingled with managers I've never spoken to. Alcohol is bad and I get too aggressi- I mean passionate

Friday

  • Hangovers are bad
  • Reviewed latest UI prototype built and discussed its feasibility with project lead
  • Continued with Metaverse Program workshop (First time joining since normally I have conflicting meetings)
  • Continued daily sessions around RAID log items that require bank action and continued to address/clarify any issues
  • Got off at a reasonable time so walked to the river and had a nice picnic

Next Week:

  • Another day another dime, nothing really to look forward to besides going home next weekend
  • Can't wait to show my family my son, Clemmy

This weekend I checked out House of Yes in Brooklyn and attended the Dirty Circus event. 10/10 so good. One of the performers was a drag magician who tap danced. Β Definitely check it out if you're open-minded and love drag!
